Reflecting on Our Successful 2024 CE-MS Summer School and Looking Ahead to Future Sessions
We successfully organized a summer school on CE-MS from July 22-24, 2024, which was attended by five graduate students and postdocs. These participants were selected based on their use or planned use of CE-MS for peptides, proteins, or protein complexes in their research. Over the course of three days, students conducted experiments in our research lab at the Department of Chemistry of Michigan State University (East Lansing, Michigan). They learned essential techniques, including making capillary coatings and setting up CE-MS systems for both bottom-up and top-down proteomics of simple and complex samples. Each participant received up to $600 to cover part of their travel expenses, thanks to support from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Special thanks to Dr. Zhu for her valuable training sessions, and to Jorge Colonrosado and Reyhane T. Nimavard (Bahar) for their valuable input and support throughout the training.
We are excited about the success of this summer school and look forward to organizing future sessions. If you are interested in participating in upcoming events, please stay tuned for announcements and application details. For further inquiries, feel free to contact Drs. Guijie Zhu (zhuguiji@msu.edu) and Liangliang Sun (lsun@msu.edu).
We will organize a summer school on CE-MS during July 22-24, 2024 for up to ten graduate students or postdocs who are using or plan to use CE-MS for peptides, proteins, or protein complexes in their research. During the three days of summer school, students will do experiments in my research lab at the Department of Chemistry of Michigan State University (East Lansing, Michigan) and learn how to make capillary coatings and how to set up CE-MS systems for bottom-up and top-down proteomics of simple and complex samples. We can offer up to $600 per student to cover some of the travel costs. The summer school is supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF). If you are interested, please send your brief CV to Drs. Guijie Zhu (zhuguiji@msu.edu) and Liangliang Sun (lsun@msu.edu) before May 31, 2024. You can learn more about our research through our publications (https://lnkd.in/eCTd4tRW)
